The first two days in Syndey are over. First day was a rainy day, my first impression in my accomodation was not so nice (not cleaned frigde, a special "smell" and only a half role of toilet-paper). But that was only a not so good begin. Now is all more than ok: wonderful performance in the theatre, sunny weather, good food in pleasant accompany and: I buyed toilet paper and a neutralises odours (with vanilla taste ;-))
My way from my accomodation in Paddington to the stables Theatre - wonderful 20 minutes walk.
With the Ferry to Parramatta. two themes today: watertaxis and big cruise ships.
Yes, I was very, very nervous today, but they people was so friendly and all is ok. Tomorrow is the first Day in the classes and I look happy forward. Ah, and a little detail: we must at first four things say to own person: the name, where we come from, how long we stay in Sydney and one of the reasons, why we want to stay exactly in Sydney for the school. Also, My name is Karin, im from Switzerland, I stay in Sydney for four weeks and one of the reasons is that I want to go to theatre. The teacher ask me: ah in the opera house? and I answered: no in a little theatre - I know an Actor :-) teacher: ah, but not Hug Jackman? hihi, no, not really.
My first Week here in Sydney is over and I have so a wonderful time that it is not really to describe. It is a strong, but a very good time and I enjoy every second of my time here in
Australia.
I found a little coffeeshop near the school and every morning, I drink there my flat white and eat a croisson with butter and jam (Erdbeerkonfi). We have lovely teachers with a lot of good Ideas.
We do a lot of practise, for example, we must study in groups a body-percussion-sequenze, we sing songs, we dub short films and get a lecture about the hobbies.
More than one time in this week, I got in the theatre to see Caress/Ache – a play with Ian. It is a new Australian play and very emotionally. For me is it a good practise. First, to understand
all the texts and the story and that‘s not so easy. And after the show, I discussed and had conversations with the cast and the crew. It’s a better practise to speak with Sydneysiders as with the
other students from Europe and Asia. It is difficulter, but more interessting for me and I had a wonderful time in the evening. Ian has a lot of time for me and that’s great.
All people here are so helpful and kind. The busdrivers, when I ask, if he can stop for me on a busstop, if I am not sure, when the stop came. Here in Australia you have no chance. The bus stop
only if you give the signal. In the bus you press the bottom and at the station you give a handsign. Otherwise, he travel straight through with a very fast speed.
I hope, in Switzerland is it nearly springtime and I wish a good time for everybody.
Best regards
Karin

Over Easter, I flew in the centre of Australia – Alice Springs, and made a 3-Day-Tour around the red centre: Uluru, Kata Tjuta and the Watarrka National Park. It was an amazing tour with lovely
people and I write in the next time my text, but today, I get photos for a first idea, was I experience in this time – enjoy it,
cheers Karin
Goodbye Sydney…..
